It’s October, which means only one thing… Pink October!
October is dedicated to raising awareness for Breast Cancer.
Here is some REAL facts about Breast Cancer.
- Breast Cancer is the most commonly diagnosed cancer in women, one in eight women will be diagnosed with breast cancer in their lifetime.
- Each year it is estimated that over 220,000 women in the US are diagnosed with breast cancer and more than 40,000 die. That is a serious number, that can be reduced, all by checking regularly in order to catch it earlier.
- In a healthy body, natural systems control the creation, growth and death of cells. However when these systems fail to work, more cell growth than death can occur. The result is a mass of tissue we call a malignant tumor—or cancer .
- Te most common symptoms to look for is a change in the look or feel of the breast, a change in the look or feel of the nipple and nipple discharge. You can notice these, which means you can catch it early enough.
We are helping raise awareness for Breast Cancer, so now’s your reminder to check your breasts.
By checking you could beat the disease before its too late.
