Does Your Bra Fit? Helpful Tips & Tricks For The Perfect Fit

Does your bra fit? If you’re experiencing any of the issues listed below, it might not! According to the Huffington Post, almost 80% of women are wearing the wrong size bra. Whether your straps are too tight, your cups are overflowing or your band doesn’t fit, wearing the wrong size or style of bra can cause serious discomfort throughout the day.

Here’s how to make sure you’re wearing the right size and style:

Bra Fit Tips

Bra Fit Tips1) Straps should sit comfortably on the shoulders without pain or slipping.

It’s a common misconception that the support comes from the straps. The majority of support should come from the band. If your band fits correctly, straps should not pinch your shoulders or feel too tight. They also should not be too loose or be slipping off your shoulders.

Shop bras with non-slip straps.

2) Cups should comfortably encapsulate the chest without overflow or gapping.

If your breast tissue is bulging up and out of the top of the cup or at the sides, your cup size is too small. On the other hand, if there is extra space or gaps in the cup, your cup size is most likely too big.

Shop the best bras for full cup sizes.

3) The band should fit comfortably on the outermost set of hooks.

As the band stretches with wear, you want to be able to tighten it by moving inwards on the rows of hooks. If you have the band on the tightest set of hooks when it’s brand new, that means the band is too loose and you won’t be able to make the band any tighter when it stretches over time. We suggest going down a band size.

4) The gore, which is the center panel, should lay flat against the sternum.

The gore of your bra is the center panel between the cups. When you’re wearing the right size, this place should lay flat against your chest. If it’s raised or stands out from the body, your bra fits incorrectly.
